Daily assignment: Africa's Problems Today

Topic: Africa's problems Today

The newspapers and television reports around the world show Africa as a continent with so many problems. They focus on the wars, the starving children, the terrible diseases, and the natural disasters. Other, more positive aspect of life in Africa are rarely shown.
In fact there are serious problems in many African countries. The biggest problem facing Africa today is the continuing treat of war. Somewhere those wars can be leaded to a dramatic competition among tribes. It can sometimes start as a single little problem and then become serious and more violent because of the use of the dramatic sophisticated weapons. For some countries it sometimes occurs because of the dispute of a bordering piece of land and especially if it contains prestigious natural, resources such as oil, natural gas, iron, gold...etc. Usually, civil wars happen because of the fight between politicians for power, and sometimes because those who have the power do not want to share with the others and rule the country like their farms or their stores disregarding or listening to the the other party. For example, after the independence in twentieth century, there were many tribes and any tribe wanted to rule. As result civil wars occur everywhere. In some countries, those wars have been going on for many decades as different groups fight to control the power. Beside this problem is the starvation. Children, women, and old people are the most victim. Because activities are not more moving, stealing becomes common since the government is unable to control the whole territory.
In spite of those problems, many Africans are hopeful about their future. Some of them are joining together to change and improve their lives. Most of them realize that moving in another prominent continent should be the best solution instead of fighting and killing themselves.
