Dailly assignment : The Planet Earth's Crisis

Topic : The Planet Earth's Crisis

At the begining of the twenty-first century, the planet earth becomes critical at this point in its history. People have changed it by polluting the air and water. Every day they cut down forest to build houses, roads, and factories everywhere. As result, global temperatures raise and change the climate. Thousands of spices of plants and animals disappear and the sea level raises continuously. Life becomes more difficult for many people, too. The destruction of the environment has affected people around the world in different ways. In the industrialized countries, it has negatively affected the quality of life and even caused illness. In other areas of the world, it has meant hunger, poverty, and even death. This truth resides in many undeveloped countries where people have already suffered a lot . Due to environmental problems, these people do not longer make a living from the land. At that time, the social, political , and economic problems that they face grow eventually. All of these problems affect each other and can lead to disaster. Thus, human activities in many different forms caused a large part of destruction and death. Around the world, individuals, businesses, and government have neglected the environment. Now they need to act soon to try to resolve many problems that our planet faces.

The Worst Day of my Life

Topic : The Worst Day of my Life

Everything started on Wednesday, 12/25/05 in my home country during the Christmas holiday. My uncle organized a party that afternoon at his house. They can divide the great moment into three parts: In the afternoon during the ceremony itself, in the night after the ceremony, and during the following day after the party. On December, 12/25/05, my uncle celebrated his daughter's birthday. He had invited many guests for that special event. He organized a great party and we enjoyed a lot. I had never drunk alcohol but that day before the party ended, I drank two glasses of red wine and a bottle of bitter beer. Just after the last drop, my eyes started turning, my ears began sounding, my legs too weak and I couldn,t walk, so I lay on a very soft sofa and didn't dance anymore. I asked my girlfriend to give me a ride because I could not drive to my house. She took me there and without taking a shower, I went directly to bed and fell asleep. I set my alarm clock at 6:00 AM as usual. In the night, I couldn't sleep properly. Although I turned on the heater, the temperature was still very cold. While dreaming, I felt like sitting on a kind of machine which was turning round. I had the impression that I could fall. Finally, I fell completely asleep later in the night. At 6:00 AM the alarm clock rang, but I couldn,t hear it. I slept until the noisy song of birds at the right corner of my window woke me up when the c lock showed 9:00 AM on Thursday morning. I jumped out of my bed like a cat, completely confused. I tried to call my supervisor at work to explain the situation, but the phone sounded only a busy signal. Very fast, I took a shower with cold water, dressed, and went to the bust station. As soon as I reached there, the last bus was living. I shouted and it couldn't stop. I started running after it. Suddenly, I slipped and fell in a puddle of water. My clothes became completely dirty and also, I hurt my arm. I returned home to change my clothes but when I reached in the front door, I couldn't find my keys. I lost them where I felt. I called my sister to open the door and she did it. I went in to get dressed and went to the main road and took a bus. However, after two miles of driving, the bus had a flat tire. We spent more than thirty minutes to fix it. Finally, I reached at work at 11:00 AM. I tried to explain what happened, but the manager didn't listen to me and I got fired. In conclusion, I could never forget that sad Wednesday in my life. When I picture in my mind that afternoon ceremony, the the dreaming of that night, and the funny scene on that Thursday , 26, I still wonder if I would ever fall into that kind of situation again one day. After losing my job because of alcohol, I decided to drink and become drunk no more. I recommend to everyone to drink more juice and water instead of alcohol.

Dailly assignment : The Disappearing Rain Forests

Topic : The Disappearing Rain Forests

We hear as rain forest also called dense forest forest of over green trees that gets at least 100 inches of rain every year. The fact that it rains so much makes those forests different from others. Many species of plant grow and many animals live there. From the new species they discover in rain forests, medical scientists have made new medicines that may save many people's lives. Environmentalists have shown that rain forests usually clean the earth's air by removing carbon dioxide and adding oxygen. In spite of this information, people everyday cut those trees at the high rate and without replanting some. Other people prefer destroying those precious trees to use the land for farming. In equatorial zone, some owners of logging companies cut down the rain forest to sell wood. Around the world, trees have been cut down in almost 80 percent of the earth's original rain forest, and large areas of these forests have disappeared. In many remaining rain forests, the logging companies continue cutting down the trees. The trees in some forests grows very slowly, however people do not replant them. The logging companies argue that using the wood from these forests is necessary since they use them to build houses and furniture. Ecologists everyday fight against people who destroy rain forest. They believe that we may preserve life on planet earth by protecting the rain forests.

Dailly assignment : How Can We Live Longer?

Topic : How Can We Live Longer?

In our life, we sometimes hear stories about a wonderful spring somewhere in Eastern Asia. People say that drinking that water can make somebody young and his life longer. Scientists generally say that the human body could not possibly last more than 120 years. However, people have already lived beyond that age. In my Country (Cameroon)there is someone who may have lived more than 120 years. They say that he fought during the first world war as a soldier. It means that in 1014 he might had at least 20 years old and today, he continues living. We can event predict that in many parts of the world, people live longer than the pass due the improvement of the medical technology. Scientists learn more all the time how we can live longer, healthier lives. Maybe they could invent a medicine which could stop the aging process. According to scientists we can increase our life expectancy by treating our body very well. our lifestyle influences how long we can live. For example smoking or drinking with exaggeration may surely reduce our life expectancy. If we give up smoking, get enough sleep, lead an active life, and eat right too, I mean eat the kind of food that requires our body, we may surely live longer. We may also avoid taking risks. For example fasting the seat belt while driving a car, wear helmet while riding a motorcycle, and avoiding injuries. We also discovered that people living in Japan and Australia generally live longer than other people.

Dailly assignment : The Extinction of the Dinosaurs

Topic : The Extinction of the Dinosaurs

For almost 100 million years, dinosaurs and other large reptiles ruled the land, sky, and
the sea. Dinosaurs may come in large sizes and shapes. According to scientific researches, approximately 65 million years ago, these huge reptiles died out and mammals took over the earth. Over the years scientists have developed many theories to explain the cause of the disappearance of the dinosaurs and the other large reptiles. Three causes can explain their disappearance: the earth's climate, the disease, and the earth's collision with a large asteroid. Some scientists believe that the number of dinosaurs reduced and event disappeared due to the a change of the earth's temperature. The earth first got tropical climate and at the end of Cretaceous period, the temperature dropped and the climate became much colder. For this reason, most animals died. The cold temperature may have cause ed serious problems to the dinosaurs. Since those huge animals didn't have feathers to protect themselves against cold, they couldn't adapt to the new climate. Scientists lead another reasons of the extinction of the dinosaurs to many diseases. They think that diseases killed the dinosaurs when large groups migrated across land bridges between the separate continents and infected one another with new illness. Other scientists lead the disappearance of dinosaurs to the asteroid theory. In the late 1970s, scientists discovered evidence for the abrupt end to the age of dinosaurs. They suggested that about 65 million years ago, the earth was struck by the a huge asteroid. The asteroid once destroyed in explosion, billions of tons sprayed up into the air . A thick cloud of dust blocked out sunlight for a long time. Consequently, plants unable to make food died. The lack of plants killed many plant-eating dinosaurs.

Dailly assignment : Transportation's Effects

Topic : Transportation's Effects

Long time ago, they viewed The invention of the automobiles as a great step forward. Today, they don't always considered them such as wonderful machines. They realize that they cause a number of social and environmental problems worldwide. The most serious problem is the air pollution. In fact, burning gasoline and diesel fuel in motor vehicles releases many chemical substances into the atmosphere, including large amounts of CO2 and other toxic gazes. The higher levels 0f CO2 in the atmosphere have led to warmer weather and climate change around the world. One way to limit the amount of CO2 produced by cars and trucks encourages people to use motor vehicle less, walk and ride a bicycle more. In many parts of the United States, for example people can only get around by car. They can't walk or ride a bicycle easily. Buses don't circulate on every roads and they can't easily take a train too. In some USA cities, public transportation does exist, but fewer people use it because of their inconvenient and cost. One way to limit the number of cars and taxi on the road consists to charge drivers whose cars use diesel and fuel some taxes and fees. These fees could keep people driving unnecessarily, and the money they bring in could help them to pay the transportation. They can reduce pollution from motor vehicles by changing the engines of motor vehicle so that they could use different fuels. Today natural gas could replace gasoline in car engines since it doesn't pollute at all.

Dailly assignment : Challege Between Nomads and Farmers

Topic : Challenge Between Nomads and Farmers

For many African people, life has changed dramatically in recent years. The Tuareg people
of north central Africa also called nomads did not have permanent homes. They traveled across the Sahara desert in caravans of camels, carrying goods between Arab in the north and south. Those Tuaregs didn't belong either south nor north African. People often called them the "blue men" because they always dress in blue and event shoes. They recognized them as great travelers in the manner that they found easily their way across the desert. There were traders and raised animals like cows, sheets, or horses that they sold or exchanged to the farmers with another products like food or fruits. Quarrels often oppose them with farmers because their animals likely destroyed farmers crops. Since they do not have permanent houses, farmers could not control them. Once their animals caused damages somewhere, they might changed there area without paying for the damage and that is why conflicts permanently exists between them and the farmers. At the end of the twentieth century, when many African countries got their independence and they fixed international borders, The Tuaregs had the obligation to limit their movements. They could not cross borders anyhow. Also the intensification of desert reduced the grassland and the Tuaregs lost most of their animals including the camels. They didn't have more chance to move. Most of them found areas which have water and started practicing agriculture. Today we don't more hear about nomads.

Dailly assignment : Diffficulties to Learn a foreign Language

Topic : Difficulties to Learn a Foreign Language

Learning to speak fluently and without any accent a foreign language can be a difficult experience. Although in many educational system, students spend many years studying grammatical rules, they don't have much chance to speak. Arriving in a new country can be a frustrate experience. Even though they may read and write very well, they often find difficulties to understand what people say to them and also people can't get easily what they say. English language is specially difficult because the pronunciation of words is not clearly shown by how they are written. They have major problems in listening, speaking, thinking , and responding in another language at the natural speed. It always takes much time and a lot of practice. When I reached in the USA, I thought that since I learned English for three years in my country, I may not suppose to have much communication problems, but I was quite wrong. When I spoke, people didn't understand what I said and I had such problems to get what people said to me. Therefore I decided return to school. I started taking English non credit classes, then credit classes, and now English 1301 class. Many new learners sometimes have difficulties in speaking because some think that people may laugh at them because of their accent. Anyway, everybody has an accent. Even speaking with mistakes a student gradually could correct its faults before becoming able to speak fluently. Also, listening to the radio, watching television news and movies constitute the real tools to master the learning of a new language.

Dailly assignment : Could Students Have a Partr Time Job?

Topic : Could Students Have a Part Time Job?

Nowadays, because Of new trends and the need of other things, young people likely in addition of classes they take, find a part time job. By the way, some parents do not agree that students have to work. Other think that it is not a privilege, but a right for students to have a job. The first group estimate that today, getting poor results at school link to the fact that those students work. They state that having a job, a student does not have enough time to turn his assignment on time nor study conveniently. Once they get the money, they may not take their studies seriously. They could dream to buy new and nice clothes, traveling without asking money to their parents, and drive nice luxurious cars. Some of them could event drop the school because of the little money they have. However, other parents allow their children to have a part time job. Some American parents recommend that having a part time job by students could teach them the value of dollar. As the say, getting poor results at school doesn't have any link with a job. If a student follows appropriately his schedule, he could not have major problems at school. Some students who work event score better in college test than those who don't work at all. When a student works, he will not more be dependent to his parents. With the money from his job, he could buy his school supply, solve his transportation problem, and his parents could therefore pay only his tuition. Allowing students to work or not is a controversy question on which parents have a choice.

Dailly assignment : Should Students Wear a School Uniform?

Topic : Should Students wear a School Uniform?

In many countries, some schools decide to make a school uniform obligatory like other course material. However, other schools do not require a school uniform to their students. Wearing an uniform or not constitute a controversial topic on which people always have different point of view. Some people believe that a school uniform must exist and every student must wear it. According to these people, it makes all students equal. When all students wear a uniform, there is no distinction. they will not know which student belongs to a poor or rich social class. Another fact is that when a kid wearing a school uniform get loss, they can easily refer from which school he comes and alert his teachers or the police. In high school, if they allow students to wear any kind of cloth, some of them and especially students belonging to a rich social class may wear a suite that their teachers don't wear. In the classroom, some students may not listen to the teacher just because the nice dress or uniform that their classmate wear disturb them. Although wearing a school uniform present many advantages, other people think that school uniform may makes students look like prisoners. They state that students are free and they can wear any cloth at school. People have different point of view about the school uniform. However wearing it will make all the students equal at school, none of them will pretend been well dressed than the others..

Dailly assignment : Countries FAcing Unusuall Conditions

Topic : Countries Facing Unusual Conditions

In Tanzania, a small country southeast Africa, almost 80% of the population is illiterate. Women constitute the high percentage of that population. As in many underdeveloped countries, most Tanzanians have traditional ideas about the role of women. They believe that women have to stay home, take care of the family, and do not have to try to get an education or look for a job. These beliefs constitute one of the factors that prevent Tanzania and other undeveloped countries from improving their economic situation. Experience in may countries has shown that educated women have fewer children and have more opportunities for improving their lives and the lives of their family. Tanzania really needs improvement. Bad climate, natural disasters, and unappropriated methods of farming constitute its major problems. Tanzanians have too much difficulties to get food. The government, together with the World Food Program, has a new program that offers food as a reward for learning. In primary school, all the children receive food package to take home to their family. That program allows girls to take 50% more food than boys. This way encourage parents to send their daughters to school rather than keeping them at home. Food for training constitutes another program that aims to educate women. The food for training program helps the teenagers and women change their lives. If they agree to join the program, they receive a large package of food each month. In return, they required women to to attend free classes for two hours every day. Since Food for training started with classes in only Two regions, today many women joined the program. That way constitute the best manner to educate Tanzanian women.

Dailly assignment : Genetically Modified Food

Topic : Genetically Modified Food

Every living thing has its own specialty because of their genes which contain their features make them show differences. Today, many people have used genetic engineering where they can take genes out from one plant or animal and put into another totally different kind of thing. This makes it possible that they can mix one genes with other genes in one organism and grown together. Genetic engineering has powerful technique. It provides humans a lot of advantages and chances in the field of agriculture; however, it also brings high risks and dangers that exist and damage the eaters. The following is the controversy of genetically modified food from two articles in terms of both pro and con. The pro-genetically modified food side claims that research and development of genetically modified food really helps to increase crop productivity. For example, they increase meat consumption in Asian countries and they need too much crops. On the other hand, other people affirm that genetically modified food has substantial benefits for both human beings and the environment. They say that new plants from genetically reformatted resist insects such as the Colorado beetle, and tillers do not need to use insecticides in many past without genetic engineering. Finally, according to the proponents, we could see that genetically modified food solves a lot of agricultural problems in increasing productivity, reducing insecticides, and improving nutrition like proteins in human.

Dailly assignment : Why Adopting a Vegetarian Diet?

Topic : Why Adopting a Vegetarian Diet?

In American English, they use "Meat and potatoes" to design the centerpiece of meal. In addition to food, meat signifies the most important part of anything. For most Americans, meat has become the heart of an American meal. Meat gives them protein and therefore build and make their muscles strong. However, although people have confidence and believe that it makes them healthier, other people let go of it and becoming vegetarian. Some people adopt vegetarian diet not because it doesn't profit to their health, but just to prevent animals' cruelty. According to them. animals like human beings feel pain, stress, and fear. They say that people can not justify the pain and suffering of animals that they kill for food when they can find the equivalent on other plant foods. Beans and other plant can provide the same quantity of protein that meat gives. According to vegetarians, Eal calves for example forced to live in extremely small cages can not move nor create appropriate movements to relax their body. They kill them just at twelve to sixteen weeks old to have a very soft meat. To ethical reasons, some vegetarians choose not to eat meat for environmental reasons. They state that cattle cause seriously the soil erosion due to overgrazing of land which creates deserts out of grasslands. According to these people, cattle production also creates water pollution through organic waste and the use of chemicals in animal feed. Furthermore, cattle production pollutes the air. Grain-fed cattle contribute significantly to global warming through the production of carbon dioxide, methane, and other toxic substances. For all vegetarians, people must eat flesh-free diet to make a decision for important global or personal reason that not only impact personal health and well being, but also the health and well being of the planet.

Dailly assignment : Can We Legalize Abortion?

Topic : Can We Legalize Abortion?

Many people argued about abortion for many years. For abortion debate, they have very strong feelings that even cause some of them to brake the law. However, after the Supreme Court's 1973 decision on Roe v Wade, making abortion legal, the debate continues to be quite challenged. According to pro-abortion analysts, legal abortion have saved many lives, improved women's health, and led to stronger families. However, illegal abortion had very high and dangerous risks both for the fetuses and their mothers. Women who ran into illegal clinics where abortionists did not have much medical training or experience and did not treat pregnant women correctly. Poor countries scored highly in that kind of activity and as result, many deaths occur. Illegal abortion does not keep women from aborting. Furthermore, illegal abortion caused women facing unsafe conditions and the fetuses also. For other reason the statistics disagree the Supreme Court's decision. Pro-legal abortion say that legal abortion replaced one million annual illegal abortion; by making it legal people may not have more fear to practice it and have heir life saved. However, many abortion critics believe that thousands of women die each year from illegal abortion and many evidences show that abortion harms women. The government decided that except the three mainly causes that can make abortion legal such as rape, incest, or saving the mother's life, abortion procedures do not longer exist. Although pro-abortion analysts claim strongly its legalization, they may understand that anyway, abortion constitutes an unnatural happening for human's body. For religion's matter, people are equal and need respect. Abortion therefore must be banished.

Dailly assignment : Impact of Home Schooling

Topic : Impact of Home Schooling

Human beings have enormous advantages from education. It trains their minds to think and make right decisions. without education people would not have their highly developed machines and would not believe that other planets surround the earth. Some parents have different opinions on how their children should get their education. Some of them like their children to learn with group, attend classes, and have schedules. Other parents like to educate their children at home. It makes parents work with their children as an individual and give them personal attention. They like to control what their children learn and when they learn it, which makes this kind of education popular these days? Some parents want to educate their children by ways acceptable to them for many reasons such as religion. Moreover, they like to educate them based on their beliefs. Apart of religion, other parents turn to home schooling because the quality of and environment of public schools did not satisfied them. Some of them change to home schooling to keep their children away from drugs, gangs, and school violence, which started and became popular in many countries. According to the Florida Department of Education's survey, 37% of parents gave this reason as cause to choose home schooling while 29% Chose home schooling for religion matter. For most parents, home schooling make children more independent. According to a research survey, almost 94% of home education helped children becoming independent and gave them the ability to make their own decision according to their convictions. For that reason, home education creates responsible and confident children. Also, some home schooled children score higher than other children in some college level tests. Although home schooling education present many advantages, it doesn't means that they should neglect public schools. Home schooling education do give children good education and have more resources. Competition always exist between public and home schools. Parents have the opinions to choose home schooling for their children and prefer it. That has impacted on public schools in competing for the best students. On the other hand, other parents believe that home schooling may have some disadvantages toward students and their background. According to these parents, home schooling take children away from real life. It may deny them from participating with people and having relationship with peers. Furthermore, home schooled students might have a lack of political and social life, which might affect their tendency to become good citizens. One of the most popular disadvantages with home schooled students result in having difficulties to learn how to conform to cultural norms. In any case, home or public schools have their owns advantages and disadvantages towards students. People have their own decision to have one of them for their children or for themselves.

Dailly assignment : Pop Music in Africa

Topic : Pop Music in Africa

Young musicians in Africa today create new kind of pop music. The tunes and the rhythms of their music combine Africa traditions with various forms of music popular such as hip-hop, rap, rock, jazz, or reggae, and their own rhythm like makossa, coupe decale', assiko, dombolo and so on. As result' that music may sound familiar to listeners anywhere in the world, but at the same time is distinctly Africa. It also differs in another way: they recognize many of its sounds as special because of their originality and also because they deal with important social or political issues those days. A famous musician who wrote serious sounds focusing on the bad aspect that politicians transform his county is Lapiro de Mbanga. He spent his entire life criticizing through his music the catastrophic conditions on which Cameroonians today live. Both opposition politicians and people ruling the countries in order to protect their interests made the economical situation collapsed. He always invites them to stop their stupidity and think about other people's life instead of just focusing their personal lives. Another prominent musician is Mwaijaga from Tanzania. Her own experiences have helped her understand the suffering of many African women. At the age of fifteen, she lost her home, but had a lucky life than the other homeless people. She could make a living by writing and singing songs in the street. At the age of eighteen, she became a musical star. Her songs writing in rap or hip-hop style about the problems that she sees in Tanzania, especially AIDS and the lack of rights for women.

Dailly assignment : Starvation in the World

Topic : Starvation in the World

Throughout history, people have always had many problems among which starvation represents the serious one. Some observers may worry about the principals causes of malnutrition and starvation in general around the world, of cause many reasons explain them. In poor countries, the lack of appropriates methods of farming, the non use of good fertilizer, and the general poverty of the soil don't let the farmers obtaining sufficient crops. Since they do not practice modern agriculture their expectations can't surprise. Another reason relay on wars which appear everywhere around the world. In each country facing war, practicing agriculture become very difficult. Not only the citizens avoid rebels' harassment but also they do not want to perish under weapon's atrocity. They may have an obligation to stay in refugee camps depending on humanities organizations. Almost every year, natural disasters make thousands of people homeless and some of them consequently died of hungry. Two years ago in Pretoria, the flooding destroyed more than fifty miles of land while in desert area the lack of rain stopped farmers' dreams. As result, they didn't have enough crops, the price of food in creased dramatically, and many children and adults died . Starvation in the world appears as one of the most important problems that the humanity could take serious.

Dailly assignment : Global worming, a Serious Environmental Problem

Topic : Global Worming, a Serious Environmental problem

Global worming increases the world temperature and causes changes in climate. If the temperature warms the earth, this may lead to change in rainfall pattern, meting of ice blocks, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impact on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about issue of change, they focus on global warming caused by human's activities. They agree that burning fossil fuel like oil and coal causes greenhouse gases to escape into the air and these gases cause many problems. Many scientists believe that human's activities cause an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere at the high rate and increase the rise of temperature in the world. Greenhouse gases have many sources, and some cause by humans. The crucial component that causes greenhouse gases such as CO2, Methane, Chlorofluorocarbon, and Nitrous Oxide to be release into the atmosphere result to humans activities. The exaggeration use of power plants, cars, airplanes, boats, and other structure release toxic gaze into the atmosphere and contributes to global worming. Nylon and nitric acid production, the use of fertilizers in agriculture, and the burning of organic matter also release the green house gases. Another important cause of global worming results of land-use changes such as massive deforestation. When people destroy massively the forest without replanting it, the carbon dioxide released into the air instead of being replace by the oxygen increases the long-wave radiation and trapped heat. Consequently, as we lose millions of acres of rain forest every year, we also lose wildlife habitats, our environment, and most significantly a non-regulated air and ocean temperature. In general, global worming enhances the spread of diseases. In central Africa where significant temperature increases have been recorded, disease-bearing mosquito population have increased in cooler, highland areas where malaria becomes a nation-wide pandemic.

Dailly assignment : A Leader That Africa Needs

Topic: A Leader That Africa Needs

In the history of South Africa, the former president Nelson Mandela captured everyone who really likes democracy and peace. After spending twenty-five years in prison because of his thoughts and beliefs, the world and international organizations made pressure on the dictatorial government that finally released him. During his life in prison, he continued thinking and dreaming to see one day his own political party A N C ( African National congress) ruling his country. Released from prison in February 1990, almost all Africans manifested their excitement and it was a great day for the whole continent. More than 500 TV channels covered the event. The world community intensified the pressure to organized for the first time fair elections on which Mandela successfully won and became the first South African's black president. Previously, the country's population estimated at about thirty millions : five millions of Whites and twenty-five millions of blacks had really suffered during the Whites' regime. Event in minority, they had dominated the Blacks, applying their discriminative policy towards the majority groups. During that period, the Blacks people didn't have the right to have an appropriate education. They do not have the right to go to the same schools with Whites nor vote. They lived in two different areas and had different sports complex, churches, and so on. The Whites had the right to own handguns and use them to intimidate the Blacks. Since Mandela became president, he abolished that bad policy and established the democracy that the majority wanted. Since during his campaign he promised to take the power, apply the democracy and let the majority taking over, at the end of his first mandate, he didn't participate to the next elections. Therefore, other democratic leaders took over. Till today, the majority group governs South Africa's republic. The discrimination has disappeared in favor of democracy. All over the world, Nelson Mandela appears to be the national hero, an example to follow.

Dailly assignment : Women' Education in Africa and in Asia

Topic: Women' Education in Africa and in Asia

The education of girls is the surest way to reduce poverty in the world. If there is serious
effort to improve the lot of billions of people deprived of the basic ingredient of a decent life, school in poor countries have to be full of girls as well as boys. The reason is evident. As clue, we discover that instead of keeping girls at home,if we let them improve their education like boys in order to have future amazing and prosperous jobs, it will be the best way to raise the economic productivity, lower the infant and maternal mortality, reduce fertility rate, and improve the environmental management. However, how many countries in Africa and in Asia think in that way? Almost six countries out of ten do not really care about that. Belonging to very poor areas, some parents still believe that women' education is not a great deal, they still think that women are made to be a good cook, mother, and doing farm work. Furthermore some minorities ethnic religious group still have a very poor conception about women' lives. They do not believe that women and men have the same equal rights. According to these people, women will not think and assume the same responsibilities as well as men do. They state that women are inferior creatures and the Islamic religion has prohibited the improvement of girls' education. Stupid as they are, two years ago in Asia, the rebels group of "Alkaida" destroyed almost one thousand school built for female students since their prophet disagreed women' education. Those Muslim may be frustrated when they see in democratic and educated countries like in the USA and other Europeans countries the role play by women. They do not understand that women have the same faculties to think and solve problems as well as men. Discovering a female president or minister who take important decisions could really border them. With women and girls being the main farmers in Africa and southern Asia, their education offers a chance to develop more efficient farming practices, improve output and raise awareness of the ecological needs of the land with tree planting, crop rotation, and decreasing malnutrition.

available. In some areas, most people build their houses with wood, others with of blocks constructed with sand or earth. Africans both build their houses with wood and blocks. Most of these people without appropriate financial means likely make earth blocks which consist of the ground dug, mixed with water, and carefully dry either on the sun or on the fire. Once the blocks are ready, the first step consists of using them to construct the walls. Secondly, Sand mixed with water and cement should be used to plaster the walls. If the house's owner is financially wealthier, he could use iron, cement, sand, and water to make the pols which support the house. To make the roof, the carpenter assembles wood, zinc, and nails. Finally plywood constitutes the common material to make the ceiling. They could use wooded doors and windows, or iron one, but in addition to wood other people use glass on their windows. The floor should be cemented and finally the walls painted. In poor areas, once they finish building the walls and make the roof, they do not worry about painting the house. Other people instead of using the blocks prefer woods. In that way all the house from the bottom to the roof except zinc is wooded. That type of houses are pretty dangerous because, if there is a fire incident, all the house should be swept away. In The United States of America, Houses are both made in wood and sand blocks including iron. Except administrative or other tall buildings, they construct most parts of American houses with wood and iron. Cement, sand and iron are used only on the floor and pols. When they finish constructing it, most of them have carpeted floors.

Dailly assignment : The Consequences of Guns Usage

Topic : The consequences of Guns Usage

Almost everyday and especially in the United States of America, there are gun shots and injuries people around us. Should we control guns? This is a challenged question due to the fact that in the USA, gun control has been controversial because it affects freedom, self-defense, and the right of American to own guns. Because of the high rate crime in America, people thought that the self-defense might be effective if everyone posses a handgun. But what happened? We discovered that owning guns instead of solving problems has created others. Today, the number of robbers is increasing dramatically. We can not stay one month before crimes relating to handguns occur. Many Americans instead of using guns to protect themselves likely use them to commit suicide; the recent one occurred six months ago at Forth Wort when a young lady used her gun to shot died her husband, her three children , before shooting herself. Last Thursday, An American soldier used his private gun to kill thirteen people and injuring Thirty others. We can't imagine how many employees had been shot at night in the gas station by robbers. Last year a Korean student in one University of the USA shot more than thirty students with two handguns before shooting himself. In this way are guns allowed to be use by everyone? It should be difficult to answer because although addictive people use guns in bad way, some people's lives have been saved with guns. I still remember a sixty years old lady who was harassed in her apartment in 3:00 AM by robbers; just when the police were informed, they reached in the spot and fired a gun then the robbers escaped away. Furthermore, one pharmacy was saved by the lost prevention's gun in south Dallas: just when the criminals discovered that the security officers had guns, they ran away. Although guns are indispensable in saving people's lives, the possession of guns should be strictly control by the government. We should therefore establish meaningful and effective federal legislation to regulate the importation, manufacture, sale, and possession of guns. Such legislation should include provision for the registration and licensing of gun purchasers and owners, appropriate background investigation and waiting periods prior to gun purchase and subsequent sale.

Dailly assignment : The Reasons of Over Population

Topic : The Reasons of Overpopulation

The great improvement in medical science lets us discover that today the growth of the
world population is increasing at the exponential rate. The mortality rate has really reduced while the number of birth reaches today the highest level. In many poor countries especially in Africa, the population is growing fast: as clue, women in those countries have a high birth rate. The average is six children per woman. The majority of those women are poor. They do not have financial support. Most of them do not have a job except those who can work in the farm. Why are those people giving birth to so many children? For economical situation, their ancestors had poor conception. They believed that a person who has many women and consequently many children should probably be a prominent one. Because most of them were farmers, they thought that having many kids will be helpful since they will provide free hand labor to their parents. Since then, this myth has reminded in Africans' mentality. They likely give birth to a lot of children event without any financial resource. Nowadays, that conception is no more helpful. Since the population has dramatically increased, there is no more space available to practice agriculture. Over there, children who do not have opportunity to go to school, or those who do not succeed at school are often offenders. Some of them are hookers, but without appropriate finance, they can't do a wealthier business. Other of those teenagers become robbers , spending their time playing on the street. Another reason for those women to have many kids is a lack of education. Most of them have not reached the high school and do not understand that having such a number of children without education is source of expenses and the increase of the poverty. The last reason is the government policy. In most of those countries, the government do not regulate the birth policy. A person can have the number of kids that he likes, it doesn't matter if he doesn't take care of them. People ruling the country do not take serious the consequences that result of the overpopulation. Their problem is applying their bad policy which consists of stealing all the country's money and keep in their own account in foreign countries. Although a country like China had understood that it can face many difficulties due to the rapid growth of the population, limiting the number of birth was the best solution, African presidents are still blind and do not care about it. Expecting that some day, poor countries will follow examples leaded by the rich countries, the overpopulation will still being one of the challenged problem that we are really concerned.

Dailly assignment : My First Year in the USA

Topic: My First Year in the USA

I reached in the United States Of America in June 2006. As I got my visa, I was so excited
and so did my family. Since there are only two seasons in my country, I didn't know another one apart of dry season and raining season. I thought that America had equatorial climate like Cameroon. Unfortunately, when our plane landed at Fort Worth international airport, the first impression I had was being inside the oven: the climate was too worming. I had never heard about summer. Although in dry season, the climate is sometimes wormed, the temperature can't approach the one that I felt that evening. As somebody took me to my apartment, I was so impressed on the way to see how the city was constructed. The streets and high way were fabulous. The traffic was inestimable, I had never seen such a number of cars circulating. I discovered that without air conditioner, it is very difficult to live in the USA in Summer. I thought that the worst climate was from June to September, but when the Winter period appeared, I became disappointed. It was too cold and the day that it snowed, I wasn't been able to get out of my apartment. To feel a little bite comfortable, I used to wear two pair of trousers and inside my jacket, I wore a shirt and also a suite. The first difficulty I encountered was expressing myself in English. Although I learned A little English in My home country, I was unable to listening to what Americans were saying. When I spoke they weren't able to get what I was saying. Because I was speaking broken English, very difficult to understand I had to much problem to go shopping. I had never used the computer before but once I arrived in this country, almost everything had to be done on computers. The day I decided to go and take a driver's License test, They told me that it must be taken only on the computer. I was nervous. The instructor directed me how to proceed. I followed carefully the instructions and finally I passed the test. Gradually I became familiar to the USA climates and now I am more comfortable than I was in my country.

Dailly assignment : What Should Our Future Towns Look Like?

Topic: What Should Our Future Towns Look Like?

Sophisticated inventions have made our daily life easier in the past century but often at the expense of our natural resources. Gas powered cars got us everywhere in a flash, but they polluted our environment. Electric heat and light made our homes warm and welcoming but also burned up limited coal and oil. Factories revolutionized the way we worked, but industrial waste trashed rivers, streams and oceans. Today we predict that lifestyle changes on the horizon for the next 150 years may actually improve our planet's health. So we can use cleaner energy and fewer chemical while working, playing, and bringing up our families in the towns of tomorrow; this is not a dream, it is a reality. If we believe in some innovations, our future towns could preserve the earth's natural riches and still be lovely places to be called homes.
For example, in transportation, more people will work at their home, shop online, and keep in touch with others through computers, more traffic will reduce. Less gasoline cars and fuel trucks should be used, more the air pollution will decrease. More many people will accelerate the processes of recycling waste, more we will have cleaner towns and economize in money spent to buy raw materials. Our towns will come from sources cleaner than coal, oil, and gas. Some energy will flow from windmills other from the sun and will supply electricity in low price to power our homes and industries. Failure to transform the nature in this way will let our planet in desperate conditions by the time we approach 150 years.

Dailly assignment : How t Train Your Pet

Topic: How to Train Your Pet

It is really amazing to see how some animals perform on TV and in movies: It depends how they have been trained. According to researches, many trainers use psychologies methods to teach their pets. Animals can be taught many sophisticated tricks based on reinforcement techniques. If you want to train your pet, you may first select the kind of animal. It can be a dog , cat, or monkey. The next thing should be to choose reward like food. Notice that reward is more effective when it is given at the same time that the pet performs the desired trick. As you will not always be able to give to the animal as quickly as you would like to do, you will need to develop a" conditioned reinforcer". You can do that by connecting the food with something else such as ringing a bell. Thus the sound of the bell makes the conditioned reinforcer. As you are ready to begin the pet responding to the bell, get out some food like hamburger, meat, or cake and present it to the animal. Give it at the rate of two pieces per minute. As soon as the animal starts eating it, ring the bell and then trow another quantity of food. After a few minutes, repeat the same steps. When your pet reaches the point where it goes to the food place whenever you ring the bell, you are ready to begin teaching it the trick. For example, if you want to teach your dog to roll over, shape the dog's behavior by reinforcing anything that resembles the behavior you are trying to teach. Begin by reinforcing any attempt to lie down, jump, and run then associate the act of giving it food and ring the bell. Finally, when it will hear the bell ringing, it will jump up and starting running all around .

Dailly assignment: Graduation Ceremonies and Traditions

Topic: Graduation Ceremonies And Traditions

In almost every country, the graduation ceremony marks a student's profile from one
stage of life to the next. Graduations observances throughout the world are performed in diverse ways. In some cultures graduation is a festivity event in which parties play a more important role than ceremonies do. In other cultures, it is a serious event steeped in centuries of tradition. For example, in some Universities like in Cameroon, the ceremony is rich in tradition. It begins with a procession. Music is played, and professors carry banners and wear hood of different colors to represent their fields of study. Then, the graduates in special gowns and caps come and take their seats. When the senior person of the institute ( university) appears ,they will start with the notional anthem. The festivities will begin by the delivering of many speeches including the awarding of diplomas. As the graduates receive their diplomas, they flip tassel on their hats from one side to the other. Dress is another ritual aspect of graduation. Almost in many cultures, graduates wear caps and gowns. In the USA, those receiving advanced degrees may wear hoods as well. The color and size of the hood show the graduate's field of study and degree. In few cultures, festivities to celebrate graduation are more important than the ceremonies. In some countries, the dance party for graduates, teachers, friends and relatives is the most important event. Graduation ceremonies in any case differ from one country or custom to another.

Dailly assignment: A Terrible Apartment Where I Live

Topic: A Terrible Apartment Where I Live

Since my contract with my old apartment ended, I moved to the new one expecting to be free because the old one was too noisy and also my neighbors may be were robbers. As I moved in hurry, I didn't check all the environment and the conditions of the new one. In fact, my new apartment is in a terrible location. First of all, it is too far away from the important stores and services. It is several miles from a grocery store, back, post office, library, pharmacy, and the worst is the distance between it and my school and the company where I work. To make matter worse, there is no convenient public transportation in my neighborhood. The bus line near my apartment runs only one bus an hour and has limited route. If you are not there by the time it stops, you will have to wait an extra hour and you will probably be late. Almost everywhere I need to go involves changing buses and it takes me a lot of time. Furthermore, my apartment is in a high crime area. Gangs of teenagers roam the street, threatening the neighbors. Last month alone, eight robberies took place on our block. The elderly woman who lives next door had her purse snatched while she was walking the dog. Almost every month about four cars windows are broken and precious equipment inside it like CD deck or radio appliances are taken away. Sometimes, the car itself is stolen. Last week in the night, my neighbor lost the new car that he had just bought. Finally, because my apartment is near an industrial area, the pollution is awful. A nearby chemical plant causes so much smog that it is often hard for me to breathe. I agree with people who say that when you are looking for an apartment, location is the first important thing.

Dailly assignment: Death Penalty as the Punishment for Terrible Crime of Murder

Topic: Death Penalty as the Terrible Crime of Murder

For many years, murders and other kinds of criminals have been involved in a controversial question about legal or illegality of death sentence to one who commits crime. For many people, death penalty is the best ways to discourage murders and establish justice. Nevertheless, other people condemn capital punishment by saying that human life is so precious ; thus we have the obligation to protect it. The three reasons of punishing cruelly murders are based on esthetical, political, and social issue.
For esthetical issue, some people condemn death by saying that it is an immoral action.According to (Warren Richy in Christian Science Monitor page 3), life is so precious and we have the obligation to protect it. Religious in the same way do not agree that justice should be established by killing the criminal. (from Vatican, 8 December 2001), Pope John Paul II said that Jesus Christ whose life was persecuted didn't accept to "meet hate with hate , violence by violence". Another reason to abolish death penalty penalty is unfair judgment. Many studies conducted have shown that most prisoners convicted were not really guilty. Human right organizations at that point are skeptical. The punishment submitted to offenders sometimes does not reflect a proportional fault committed. In 1995, an eighteen years old girl was killed in Singapore just because of drug traffic. For some observers, death sentence may somewhere result to esthetical status. Base to their declarations, in the USA, most offenders may be Hispanic or other minority groups(http://Karisble.com/crpundeath.htm). For ethical matter, death sentence should be suspended. Researches conducted state that capital punishment for political reasons should be abolished. Many critics believe that death punishment could be a source of revenge or intensification of violence for some groups. Today, Iraq is an illustration of that kind of situation. Shiites and Kurds are still fighting and destroying themselves including the massive killing of most US soldiers in Iraq because some of them want to revenge the execution of their former president.(Warren Richey on page 3) agrees that people convicted for their belief or political reason should not be killed because it is an immoral act and it is anti constitutional. In poor countries, massive executions occur because of their political believes. In Cameroon, during the 1992 University strike, some student were shot since they do not belong to the government political party. It should be be unfair to treat people base to their social status. Generally, in poor countries dominated with corruption, people are sometimes convicted not because they are really guilty, but because they don't have money to corrupt or bribe the judge.
In addition to political issue, social issue is one of the points that condemns death punishment. From many studies, it appears that death penalty has not decreased crimes rates; instead the number of murders increases everyday. the solution of those problems will not come from building larger jails, or killing massively criminals. It will be suitable to find the real cause of crime, why murders are committing crimes, how do they get guns? As example in Cameroon, they were hanging a murder in a public place : As I was watching carefully the scene, beside me, without any fear, a thief was removing my purse. There is too much injustice around the world. According to New York Time, It is observed that among many executions, few people are been found killed while they were innocents. The major reasons of applying death sentence were to eliminate crimes, but everywhere, there are more and more murders. Therefore, applying death penalty will not practically eliminate crimes. although death penalty critics refute many arguments requiring the abolition of capital punishment, pro- death punishment recommend that justice should be apply proportionally to the crime committed. According to (pro death penalty.com), people are equal and have the same opportunities to earn their lives; therefore, it will not be acceptable that people for whatever reason kill others. In that way, equal punishment should be apply for the execution committed. For most pro-capital punishment, people against this practice are quite wrong. Although they are criticizing it, in almost every countries, governments have their individual way to punish murders. Death sentence should be the best way to discourage criminals, that is why they often claim that"eye for eye, tooth for tooth". In this way capital punishment should be reinforced anyway.
The divergence point of view of many researchers is so controversial that taking position on this topic depends on anyone's belief. For many people, death penalty should be abolished because ethically,it is an immoral action. Politically it could be a source of revenge, and in the society, it will not really solve problems. Nevertheless, other people are skeptical and support that death sentence is the best way to restore justice. Base on those declarations, there is no typical wright or wrong answer about for or against death punishment. It should be justified depending on the crime.

Dailly assignment: A Specific Part of My High School

Topic: A Specific Part of My High School

In my home country, I was a high school student in 2003 and like the other clever students, I sometimes spent most of the time in the campus studying, doing research in the library, and even practice other activities like sport, music and dance. Our school was located in the north west of the biggest city. In front of that school was the high way which connected the town to another city. On the left, there was a big restaurant and a supermarket. On the right was a bookshop where almost all students bought their school supplies. Behind it there was the school complex sport field where all sport activities were practiced.
A specific place in my high school was the English classroom where I started learning. That beautiful rectangular classroom measured 4mx3m. From the back there was a white door made of iron and glass. It had a clean floor carefully carped. When they opened the door, there was twenty wooded benches. On both side, there was a two wide windows. On the right was large screen television set. Beside the TV, there was the teacher's desk on which was a nice boll of flower. On the left side of the wall, was hung a small calender with amazing pictures on it. On the front wall, just at the corner was a medium side clock. Behind the teacher's desk was a large black board. That classroom was always crowded of students during break when there was a group assignment. In conclusion, that beautiful classroom was a special place for me because it reminds me a good time I had there when I started learning English.
