Dailly assignment : Countries FAcing Unusuall Conditions

Topic : Countries Facing Unusual Conditions

In Tanzania, a small country southeast Africa, almost 80% of the population is illiterate. Women constitute the high percentage of that population. As in many underdeveloped countries, most Tanzanians have traditional ideas about the role of women. They believe that women have to stay home, take care of the family, and do not have to try to get an education or look for a job. These beliefs constitute one of the factors that prevent Tanzania and other undeveloped countries from improving their economic situation. Experience in may countries has shown that educated women have fewer children and have more opportunities for improving their lives and the lives of their family. Tanzania really needs improvement. Bad climate, natural disasters, and unappropriated methods of farming constitute its major problems. Tanzanians have too much difficulties to get food. The government, together with the World Food Program, has a new program that offers food as a reward for learning. In primary school, all the children receive food package to take home to their family. That program allows girls to take 50% more food than boys. This way encourage parents to send their daughters to school rather than keeping them at home. Food for training constitutes another program that aims to educate women. The food for training program helps the teenagers and women change their lives. If they agree to join the program, they receive a large package of food each month. In return, they required women to to attend free classes for two hours every day. Since Food for training started with classes in only Two regions, today many women joined the program. That way constitute the best manner to educate Tanzanian women.
